|  |  | The Engineering Works of Charles Burrell and Sons in Thetford produced steam engines and agricultural machinery which was internationally renowned and exported across the world.
The Charles Burrell Museum was opened in 1991 in the former paint shop. The exhibits range from a steam engine and road roller to milling machines and the original factory bell. The wealth of documentary and photographic evidence held in the museum collections is used to tell the stories of the Burrell family, and their company which was once one of the major employers in Thetford.
